Welcome to The BEAD Lodge

In our Indigenous culture, a lodge is a place where people gather. It is where teachings are shared, relationships are strengthened, creativity is encouraged, and community is built.

When I created The BEAD Lodge, I wanted to create that same feeling—not only through the products we sell, but through the experiences we share.

That vision became our logo.  It also became our purpose.  The BEAD Lodge is more than a bead store — it’s a space built on connection, creativity, and culture.

Welcome to The BEAD Lodge. We're glad you're here.

Rooted in Culture, Built for Community

Located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, The BEAD Lodge is an Indigenous-owned cultural hub where people come to shop authentic Indigenous products, explore creativity, learn, and connect through culture.

Inspired by the spirit of a traditional lodge, we've created a welcoming place where everyone belongs. Whether you're beginning your beading journey, reconnecting with your culture, or discovering the work of Indigenous artists, you'll find more than products here—you'll find community.

Because beading is more than art. It is storytelling, tradition, identity, and connection.

Celebrating Indigenous Entrepreneurship & Community

The BEAD Lodge owner, Fran Rogers, was recently featured by the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA), recognizing her entrepreneurial journey and commitment to creating opportunities for Indigenous artisans and communities.

From selling beads in her basement to building The BEAD Lodge into a welcoming retail space in Grande Prairie, Fran's story is one of resilience, culture, and community. Guided by the values of service, connection, and supporting future generations, she continues to create a place where Indigenous artists can thrive and where everyone feels welcome.

As Fran shares in her interview:

"I want women, youth and emerging artists to see that there is space for them. Our stories, our art, our culture—they all matter."

Watch the interview below to learn more about Fran's journey and the vision behind The BEAD Lodge.
